In 2022, legal organizations spent 777.3 billion tenge on IT services, and 23.5 billion tenge, which is three percent of the total, were allocated for cybersecurity, El.kz reports, citing the Telegram channel of the First Credit Bureau

The companies divide into three categories depending on the form of ownership:

  • State-owned enterprises spent 4.2 billion tenge, which is 2.3% of the total amount of 180 billion tenge.

  • Private companies allocated 19.3 billion tenge, which is 3.3% of the total amount of 589.8 billion tenge.

  • Foreign companies spent 29.6 million tenge, which is 0.4% of the total amount of 7.4 billion tenge.

Domestic companies pay more attention to the prevention of cyber threats compared to state-owned enterprises.

However, in both cases, we are talking about insignificant costs. Analysts explain that legal entities with non-resident founders pay almost no attention to the corresponding risks.
