How many tourists visited Kazakhstan in summer of 2023
During the summer months, 448,000 foreign tourists visited Kazakhstan, eQonaq data showed, El.kz reports, citing the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The vast majority of visitors are men (64.6%), mainly in the age category from 30 to 44 years.
Almaty became the most popular city among foreigners, attracting over 139 thousand guests. Next comes the capital of the country, where 68,000 tourists stayed over the summer, and then the Almaty region with 34,000 visitors.
Kazakhstan's western regions, such as Mangystau and Atyrau regions, are also in demand, attracting 28,000 and 25,000 tourists, respectively.
"The Akmola region received about 21,000 foreign tourists, while other regions, such as Zhambyl, Aktobe, Karaganda and North Kazakhstan, attracted more than 14,000. In general, over the year, the increase in foreign tourists amounted to 1.8 times, and it is assumed that by the end of 2023 about 1.4 million guests from abroad will visit Kazakhstan," said Moldir Abdualieva, a representative of the ministry.
