Head of State receives Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov

Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev received Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov, El.kz news agency reports with reference to the press service of Akorda.

Olzhas Bektenov reported on the socio-economic situation in the country, the harvesting campaign as well as the pace of housing restoration in the regions hit by floods.

According to Kazakh PM, this year the main drivers of economic development were the manufacturing industry and the construction industry.

About 4.5 million hectares, or 27%, were harvested for the main grain crops in the country. With an average yield of 15 centners per hectare, about 6.6 million tons of grain have harvested with an average yield of 15 centners per hectare, which is 40% higher than last year. The shipment of cheaper diesel fuel is carried out as scheduled.

Speaking about housing for flood-affected residents, the Prime Minister informed that  7,463 families were provided with new housing, 479 houses are at the final stage of construction. In addition, compensation for repairs was paid to 9,171 families.

Following the meeting, the Head of State, stressing the importance of the work being done, gave a number of instructions on further socio-economic development of the country.
