Head of State receives Minister of Foreign Affairs of Japan

President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Japan Takeshi Iwaya discussed the current state and prospects for the development of the Kazakh-Japanese enhanced strategic partnership in the trade and economic, investment, transit and transport, as well as cultural and humanitarian spheres, along with cooperation within international organizations, El.kz reports.
Welcoming the head of Japan’s foreign policy department, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev emphasized that his visit to Astana would give new impetus to strengthening bilateral ties.
“Japan is our reliable and close partner in Asia. We attach great importance to deepening comprehensive cooperation with Tokyo. Please convey my warm regards to Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba. We look forward to and are preparing for his official visit to Kazakhstan. It is safe to say that our relations are developing dynamically,” the President noted.
In his turn, Takeshi Iwaya thanked the President of Kazakhstan for the warm welcome.
“We will certainly convey your kind regards to the Prime Minister. Kazakhstan and Japan are strategic partners committed to strengthening the international order. I believe my visit will pave the way for the further development of bilateral relations,” noted the Japanese Foreign Minister.
