President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev held a meeting with Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov to consider the results of the country's socio-economic development for January-November of this year, El.kz reports with reference to Akorda.
Olzhas Bektenov reported on the implementation of the President's instructions in key areas. According to Kazakh PM, GDP growth for 11 months amounted to 4.4%.
Economic growth this year was mainly due to the development of the non-oil sector (5.1%), despite the failure to achieve the forecast indicators for oil production.
The Prime Minister also noted that the export of processed goods increased by 10.2%, reaching $23.3 billion, while imports of goods decreased by 3.3%. The volume of investments in fixed assets increased by 3.1%, primarily in non-resource industries.
Olzhas Bektenov presented plans to increase business activity and improve the quality of life in the regions of the country.
The President instructed to continue strengthening the positive dynamics in the manufacturing industry, agriculture, construction and transport industry.
Particular attention was paid to attracting investment, modernizing social and engineering infrastructure, developing import substitution and controlling prices for socially significant food products.
