Head of State receives Chairman of State Power Investment Corporation Liu Mingsheng
President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, during his working visit to China, met with Chairman of State Power Investment Corporation Liu Mingsheng, El.kz reports citing Akorda.
At the meeting, issues of expanding cooperation in the energy sector were discussed, with special attention to the development of renewable energy sources.
The President of Kazakhstan was informed about the company's current projects in Kazakhstan, including the creation of a wind power project in Zhanatas and a solar power plant in Karaganda.
Liu Mingsheng also announced plans to build wind farms in the Zhambyl and Pavlodar regions, as well as a study of opportunities for hydropower and combined-cycle projects in Kazakhstan. The total investment in wind energy projects will amount to over 1 billion US dollars.
President Tokayev emphasized Kazakhstan's interest in attracting advanced international technologies in the field of renewable energy and invited Liu Mingsheng to take part in the upcoming Astana International Forum
