Head of State receives ADB President

Welcoming Masato Kanda at Akorda Palace, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev congratulated him on the first anniversary as the head of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) as well as on the Bank’s upcoming 60th anniversary,El.kz reports citing Aqorda.
The President of Kazakhstan noted that over more than 30 years of fruitful cooperation, the Asian Development Bank has supported more than 170 projects worth over USD 7 bln in the country, thereby making a significant contribution to economic growth, infrastructure modernization, and enhancing the well-being of the population.
The Head of State outlined plans to implement major projects in key sectors of the economy in the coming years, aimed at ensuring sustainable growth and structural modernization of the country.
For his part, Masato Kanda stated that the Asian Development Bank views the expansion of cooperation with Kazakhstan as a priority area of its activities. The Bank intends to participate in financing projects in housing construction, emergency management, and other strategically important areas.
The ADB President also highlighted Kazakhstan’s leading positions in digital technologies and the adoption of artificial intelligence, as well as strong prospects in the development of critical minerals, emphasizing the country’s high potential for implementing large-scale investment initiatives.
In conclusion, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev emphasised the stable and long-term nature of the partnership between Kazakhstan and the Asian Development Bank and reaffirmed readiness to further expand mutually beneficial cooperation.
