Head of State received Chairman of the Board of the Social Health Insurance Fund

The Head of State received Chairman of the Board of the Social Health Insurance Fund Abylkair Skakov, El.kz reports with reference to the press service of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Kassym-Jomart Tokayev heard a report on the results of the work of the social health insurance system since the beginning of 2023 and in general during the implementation of the CSHI.

The President was informed that with the introduction of social health insurance, the financing of the healthcare sector has increased by 2.5 times, and the cost of health per resident has doubled.  The Head of State was also informed about increasing the availability of medical care for citizens.

Abylkair Skakov presented information on the implementation of the President's instructions on improving the efficiency of the CSHI system. In particular, a set of measures is being implemented to expand the coverage of social health insurance, ensure the financial stability of the Fund and accelerate the digitalization of all CSHI-related processes.

Along with this, topical issues of concern to Kazakhstanis in connection with the functioning of the health insurance system were voiced. In the implementation of the Foundation's plans, attention will be mainly paid to the patient and his or her health care needs.

Following the meeting, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev set a number of tasks for Abylkair Skakov aimed at improving the efficiency of the social health insurance system.
