Head of State meets with Managing Director of Abu Dhabi Ports Group

President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev held a meeting with Managing Director and Abu Dhabi Ports Group CEO Mohamed Juma Al Shamisi. The main topic of discussion was the development of Aktau and Kuryk sea ports ‘the strategic goal of Kazakhstan’, El.kz reports with reference to Akorda.

The parties discussed the possibilities of mutually beneficial cooperation. President Tokayev praised the ongoing partnership between the national company KazMunayGas and ADP, which covers the transportation of Kazakh oil through the Middle Corridor to Azerbaijan.

Kassym-Jomart Tokayev also shared plans to expand the capabilities of the North-South route connecting Eurasia with the regions of the Persian Gulf, Africa and India.

The President expressed hope to increase the capacity of the route by 70% from 9 to 15 million tons by 2027.

During the meeting, Tokayev also welcomed the agreement between Kazakhstan Temir Zholy and AD Ports Group on the creation of a joint enterprise wishing success in implementation of its projects.
