Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev received Astana mayor Zhenis Kassymbek, El.kz news agency reports with reference to the press service of Akorda.

The President heard a report on the socio-economic and infrastructural development of the capital.

The volume of investments for 9 months of this year amounted to 1 trillion 140 billion tenge in 9 months, 16% more than the same period of 2023.

The Head of State was briefed about the course of the heating season.

Thanks to the launch of the Yugo-Vostok gas thermal power plant last year, the first stage of the Turan gas-fired thermal power station and the first stage of CHPP-3, a surplus of heat was ensured. These life support facilities generated a total of over 1,100 Gcal/h of heat.

The Head of State was informed about the construction of social facilities (schools, affordable housing, medical centers), the completion of the construction of housing complexes - long-term construction. So, in the new academic year, 15 of the planned 24 schools were commissioned, 9 of them - within the framework of the national project "Comfortable School". By the new year, 6 student dormitories for almost 4.5 thousand places will be built, 4 of them are already functioning.

To date, about 170 courtyard and public spaces have been landscaped in the capital, more than 70 streets have been repaired. It is planned to plant a million trees.

In conclusion, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev gave a number of instructions on the modernization of infrastructure, further development and improvement of Astana.
