GYMNASIUM NO.46 IS A SMALL MODEL OF ASSEMBLY OF PEOPLE OF KAZAKHSTAN, GULMIRA BAIZULDA
Gulmira Baizulda is a headmaster of school-gymnasium No. 46 in Astana since 2011, once organized for representatives of the German expatriate community. We asked Gulmira Zhanybayevna to tell about school and its students.
— State Institution “Complex “Kindergarten-school-gymnasium No. 46” is more widely known as “German gymnasium”. Gymnasium was founded in 1994 on the basis of kindergarten No. 63 at the suggestion of the Department of Education. The school is a small model of the Assembly of people of Kazakhstan now. Kazakhs and Germans, Belarusians and Ingushes, Russians and Latvians study here.
Every year, students of gymnasium demonstrate their knowledge in the district, city and national competitions in the German language, filling collection plate of achievements with bronze, silver and gold medals. Over the past five years, 8 gold, 6 silver and 13 bronze medals have been won. Owners of medals are Victoria Burkina, Ekaterina Vassilenyuk, Valery Talagayev, Arina Mironova, Malika Arstan and others.
—Could you tell us about your cooperation with German society?
—All work at gymnasium is carried out in close contact with the German society: each of school staff take German courses, joint national holidays are held as well. The contingent of children began to expand with the area expansion: along with children of German nationality, children of other nationalities (Kazakhs, Russians, Ukrainians, etc.) began to show interest in our school.
—What competitions do your students participate in?
—90% of gymnasium students of all age groups are winners of city, republican, international competitions and olympiads “Ak Bota”, “Pony”, “Russian bear cub”, “Golden fleece", “Basic Sciences”. Students of secondary school are absolute winners in the Republican competition.
—What kind of activities are held in your gymnasium?
—We hold different activities and events devoted to German and Kazakh holidays. Such events help our students to deepen the knowledge about traditions, languages and cultures of both countries.
—Are there any opportunities for gymnasium students to study in Germany?
—Since 2001 students of 11th grade pass the examination for the German language diploma of the 2nd degree, thereby confirming the high level of education. The diploma allows admission to Germany universities without passing the entrance examination in the German language.
School No. 46 is a platform for pedagogical practices, future linguists – students of L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University. A special pride of the school are the students who received scholarships to study in German universities with the assistance of German Academic Exchange Service: Adilkhan Abzhanov, Arina Mironova, Angelina Mironova, Assel Askarova and Aigul Nuptybayeva. Graduates of the Gymnasium continue their education in Kazakh-German University, Universities in Germany, Austria, Russia, Czech Republic, the USA and China.
