Greek FM gets acquainted with State-of-the-Nation of President of Kazakhstan

Ambassador of Kazakhstan Yerlan Baudarbek-Kozhatayev and the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Hellenic Republic Georgios Kotsiras held a meeting and discussed socio-economic transformations in the two countries, El.kz cites MFA.

The Ambassador introduced him with the main provisions of the State-of-the-Nation Address of the President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev «Economic course of a Just Kazakhstan» and informed about the creation of 4 new ministries to address priority issues.

Deputy Minister Kotsiras noted that under the Extraversion Strategy, Athens, like Astana, is implementing a comprehensive plan aimed at industrialization, digitalization and transition to green energy of the national economy. He drew attention to the mainstreaming of climate change in the Address, stating that Greece is currently experiencing the socio-economic consequences of large-scale forest fires and floods.

The Greek diplomat also expressed his interest in an article by President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev in “The Jerusalem Post” under the title “Religious leaders can help bring about world peace”.

He said that Greece shares Kazakhstan's approaches to strengthening inter-civilizational dialogue and trust in the context of growing geopolitical turbulence, emphasizing that Athens seeks to become a pillar of stability and cooperation in the Western Balkans and Eastern Mediterranean region.

Kotsiras highly appreciated Kazakhstan's measures to strengthen mutual understanding between representatives of different cultures and religious communities, noting that the 10 thousand Greek community in Kazakhstan and about 100 thousand ethnic Greeks who have returned to Greece serve as a “live bridge” between two countries and make a great contribution to the development of interrelations between peoples.
