Grand Tour of the Astana Ballet Theatre in Switzerland
The world recognized Kazakh theater “Astana Ballet” successfully performed on the stage of the cultural center “Bâtiment des Forces Motrices” in Geneva, El.kz cites MFA.
In the center of cultural diplomacy, for the first time, the theater's collective, accompanied by a symphony orchestra under the direction of chief conductor Arman Urazgaliev, presented to the Swiss audience samples of classical and national choreographic art: the iconic performance of Alberto Alonso's “Carmen Suite” to music by Georges Bizet and Rodion Shchedrin, the author's mystical production “Arcana Destiny” choreographed by the theater's chief choreographer Mukaram Avakhri to music by Karina Abdullina and the incredible in beauty and spectacle gala concert “The Heritage of the Great Steppe” choreographed by honored artists Aigul Tati and Mukaram Avakhri – a profound ethnographic and figurative representation of national identity, which has become a hallmark of the theater.
In his welcoming speech, Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Switzerland Kairat Sarzhanov, stressing the importance of developing cultural exchange in order to strengthen Kazakh-Swiss cooperation, noted the importance of the gala concert “Heritage of the Great Steppe” dedicated to the Independence Day of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The unique project, inspired by the lifestyle of Kazakh nomads, immersed the audience in the atmosphere of traveling through the vast Kazakh steppe.
Representatives of government agencies, academic and business circles of Switzerland, international organizations, as well as the Kazakh diaspora living in different cantons of the Confederation, welcomed the artists of “Astana Ballet” with loud applause, noting the professionalism and aesthetics in the performance, the beauty of costumes of artists, their sensuality and energy.
Within the framework of the performances, the Embassy of Kazakhstan organized a photo exhibition “Undiscovered Kazakhstan” about sacred and unique corners of our country in the foyer of the theater.
