President of the National Olympic Committee of Kazakhstan Gennady Golovkin congratulated cyclists Rinata Sultanova and Alexey Lutsenko on their victories at the Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, El.kz reports citing the National Olympic Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Sultanova won the women’s individual time trial, securing Kazakhstan’s first gold medal at this year’s Asian Games.
Lutsenko won the men’s individual time trial. This victory marked the Kazakh cyclist’s fifth Asian Games gold medal of his career.
At the end of the first day of competition, Team Kazakhstan had won 4 gold and 2 bronze medals.
Kazakhstan’s cyclists have two more events ahead. The athletes will compete in the women’s and men’s road race events.
