On 27 August the Yerkegali Rakhmadiyev Grand Concert Hall of the Kurmangazy Kazakh National Conservatory will host a classical music concert entitled From Vienna to Buenos Aires. Violinist Yerassyl Khamit and the Almaty Festival Orchestra, conducted by Ilyas Duissen, will perform on the same stage.

The programme features Ludwig van Beethoven’s Violin Concerto in D major, one of the cornerstones of the classical repertoire, as well as Astor Piazzolla’s The Four Seasons of Buenos Aires.

Who is Yerassyl Khamit?

The young violinist has already established an impressive record of achievements on the international stage. In 2025, he won First Prize at the CullerArts International Violin Competition in Spain. In January of the same year, he performed a solo programme for Pope Francis at the Palazzo della Cancelleria in Rome.

The musician’s professional record includes performances at venues coveted by many classical performers, including the Golden Hall of the Vienna Musikverein, the Vienna Konzerthaus, the Grosses Festspielhaus in Salzburg, Tokyo’s Suntory Hall, the Grand Hall of the St Petersburg Philharmonia, and the Tchaikovsky Concert Hall in Moscow.

Khamit is currently furthering his artistic training at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna. Beginning in September 2026, he will join the Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra as a member of its ensemble.
