French companies to strengthen support for Kazakh industry
Kazakh Minister of Industry and Construction Kanat Sharlapayev will hold meetings with representatives of leading French companies,El.kz news agency reports with reference to the press service of the ministry.
The main purpose of the visit is to strengthen industrial cooperation and develop joint projects. At the moment, 8 projects are being implemented between Kazakhstan and France worth more than $574 million, creating almost 2,000 jobs.
Sharlapayev met with representatives of Orano, BRGM, EDF, Alstom and Veolia, where they discussed nuclear energy, water resources management and the development of railway infrastructure in Kazakhstan. Separately, the topics of environmental sustainability and joint projects in the field of water supply and energy were touched upon.
The key issues were the transformation of the energy sector and the improvement of logistics within the framework of the long-term partnership between the two countries.
