French businessmen offered to invest in agro-industrial complex of Kazakhstan
Kazakhstan is open to cooperation and implementation of joint projects in the field of agriculture. This was stated by Minister of Agriculture Yerbol Karashukeyev at a meeting with a delegation of French agricultural companies, headed by the Minister-Delegate for Foreign Trade, Economic Attractiveness and French Affairs Abroad Olivier Besht. The meeting was organized with the assistance of NC Kazakh Invest JSC, El.kz reports with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Addressing the foreign guests, Yerbol Karashukeyev invited French entrepreneurs to invest in seed production, crop production and food production in Kazakhstan. The head of the Ministry of Agriculture recalled the successful cases of French companies that are ready to work in the domestic market.
For example, Lactalis and Danon plan to invest in the milk processing industry in the country. In addition, a joint project with Evolution to create a genetic center is currently being worked out.
Yerbol Karashukeyev separately noted that French veterinary medicine is a world leader and now the Kazakh holding QazBioPharm is working on a project with Boehringer Ingelheim for the production of veterinary vaccines. Based on the results of the audit, agreements were reached on specific stages of the project. The next ambitious step will be the export of manufactured vaccines to the countries of Central Asia and Mongolia.
The head of the Ministry of Agriculture stressed the need to strengthen contacts between ministries, departments and agricultural producers of the two countries in order to make full use of the existing potential for cooperation between Kazakhstan and France.
