Floods in Kazakhstan: Assembly sends over 1,500 tonnes of humanitarian aid
Under the chairmanship of the Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, the meeting of the XXXIII session of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan "Unity. Creation. Progress", El.kz reports with reference to Akorda.
"From the first days of the floods, everyone saw the active and well-coordinated work of the Assembly. More than 1500 tons of food and goods have already been sent to the disaster zones for a total of about 770 million tenge.
The participation of 12,000 volunteers of ethno-cultural associations in the collection of charitable and humanitarian aid, the organization of evacuation and informing citizens became a living embodiment of the cohesion and mutual assistance of citizens.
During my meetings with residents of the flooded districts of West Kazakhstan, North Kazakhstan, and Kostanay regions, they expressed gratitude to the members of the APK for their concern and timely assistance."
