Expansion of cooperation in educational sphere between Kazakhstan and Saudi Arabia discussed in Medina
Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Saudi Arabia Berik Aryn met with the President of the Islamic University of Medina (IUM) and a member of the Royal Family Prince Prof. Mamdouh bin Saud Al Saud, El.kz cites MFA.
They discussed bilateral cooperation in education, particularly in Islamic sciences and education. The Kazakh diplomat informed the Prince about the higher education system in Kazakhstan, measures to improve science and education, and activities of higher educational institutions in Kazakhstan.
The Kazakh Ambassador expressed Kazakhstan's leadership's desire to improve the quality and accessibility of higher education for young people and commended the Kingdom for its success in reforming and dynamically developing its higher education system.
Professor Mamdouh Al-Saud explained the procedures and legal basis for accepting students at the University and shared the University's vision to become a leading global Islamic research and education center that combines traditional Islamic values and global advances in technology and artificial intelligence.
The Head of IUM also noted that the University has a rich library collection and various archival documents and manuscripts of medieval Islamic scholars, which Kazakh scientists and historians could study in-depth.
To expand and strengthen bilateral ties in the field of science and education, Ambassador Aryn proposed to the President of the IUM to consider establishing contacts and signing a Memorandum of understanding and cooperation between the Islamic University of Medina and Nur-Mubarak University.
During the visit, the Ambassador also met with Kazakh students studying in different departments of the Islamic University, asking about their learning conditions, student life, and issues requiring assistance from the Embassy and Consulate General of Kazakhstan.
The Ambassador called on Kazakh students to interact more actively through joint cultural and educational activities and sports competitions. He stressed that the Embassy and Consulate General would provide all necessary assistance and support.
