Karaganda is preparing to celebrate its 90th anniversary. The city's birthday will take on February 10. An exhibition in the Museum of Fine Arts was dedicated to the anniversary date, El.kz reports with reference to the akimat of the region.
The exposition "Artistic Chronicle of Karaganda" presents 50 paintings by artists of different generations from the museum's funds.
"Coming to the exhibition, Karaganda residents will be able to see the history of the city, because artists are also chroniclers," says Bibigul Kudabayeva, head of the art museum.
Recently Chinese artist Zhao Yanjun presented to the museum the painting "Pomegranate Peony Blooms". The work is also on public display. The painting is made in the technique of paper cutting. Each element has its own meaning: pomegranate fruits symbolize abundance, fertility and a bright future, peonies are a symbol of wealth and prosperity.
The exhibition "Art Chronicle of Karaganda" will last until January 14.
