The Eurovision Song Contest 2023 will be held in the UK, not in Ukraine, whose representative won the contest this year, El.kz reports.

"Unfortunately, we came to the conclusion that for security reasons it is impossible to hold it in this country," the Eurovision organizing committee said in a statement.

The UK was chosen as a host nation for Eurovision after finishing second in the 2022 Contest

Ukraine will also automatically qualify for the final stage of the contest, along with the so-called ‘Big 5’, which are the countries that financially contribute the most towards the event (France, Germany, Italy, Spain and the UK).
