Estonian experts underline importance of ongoing political reforms in Kazakhstan

A round table was held at the Embassy of Kazakhstan with the participation of Estonian experts on the topic of political reforms in Kazakhstan, El.kz cites MFA. 

In this regard, special attention was paid to the upcoming early election of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan on November 20, 2022, which will start election cycle, aiming at a principal re-launch of the entire political system of the state.

In particular, the participants of the event focused on the expected effect of legislative innovations and the electoral process. According to experts, early presidential and parliamentary elections can lead to an increase in public awareness within the planned transformation of the country's political system. In this context, the upcoming changes present an opportunity for citizens to take a direct part in changing the state structure. “The reforms and elections proposed by the authorities of Kazakhstan are a sign of the desire to qualitatively change the conditions for the development of the country. It is important that citizens are actively involved in the discussion of the ways of development in accordance with the rules of democracy,” said the former Ambassador of Estonia to Kazakhstan, Heiti Mäemees.

The discussions also focused on the socio-economic development of the country and further prospects for the bilateral cooperation between Kazakhstan and Estonia.
