The first ever National Sports Award "Zhenimpaz Ruhy" was presented in Astana, El.kz news agency reports.
The Ministry of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan noted the best athletes, coaches, sports organizations, journalists and others.
According to the Tennis Federation of Kazakhstan, in the nomination "Breakthrough of the Year", the winner was the first racket of Kazakhstan, the champion of Wimbledon-2022 Elena Rybakina.
"I thank everyone who voted for me in the nomination "Breakthrough of the Year". It's very honorable and means a lot to me. Unfortunately, I could not get the award, as I am now at the training camp and very soon I am leaving for competitions in Australia. Once again, I want to say a huge thank you to all Kazakhstanis who supported and worried about me for a year. I hope that I will continue to please you with my game and results in the coming year. I congratulate all the winners in the nominations, wish them success and all the best," Elena Rybakina shared her emotions.
