The official premiere of The Architecture of Life, a documentary by journalist and filmmaker Dinara Tursunova, took place on the De Media media platform, a project of Qazcontent JSC, El.kz reports.

It is an honest story  about the struggle for the right to be born and to live. The film presents the entire chain of saving human lives, bringing together four key pillars of modern medicine and portraying them through the lens of raw human emotions, fears, prayers, and faith.

The narrative unfolds as a single, emotionally escalating drama that reveals the full journey of creating and protecting life. The story begins with reproductive medicine and embryology, portraying the incredibly complex journey of IVF, as well as the personal experience of a woman who endured the pain of waiting and went on to establish a charitable foundation to help other families.

The film then takes viewers into the unique world of fetal surgery. It shows Kazakhstani doctors performing highly precise procedures with microsurgical instruments directly inside the mother’s womb, correcting severe fetal abnormalities before the baby takes its first breath.

The neonatology segment reveals the extraordinary lengths to which doctors go to save extremely premature babies, some weighing as little as 500 grams. Heartfelt confessions from mothers, their sleepless nights, and prayers beside incubators intertwine with the highest level of medical expertise, as doctors fight for every gram and every additional day of life.

The final act focuses on pediatric cardiac surgery, showcasing cutting-edge equipment and emergency open-heart operations performed on newborns just four hours after birth.

The human factor holds a special place in the film. It is showing that behind every surgical incision and every medical decision are immense emotional struggles. Doctors carry the story of each little patient in their own hearts.

The Architecture of Life is more than just a documentary; it is a practical guide and a source of life-saving hope. The film clearly explains where, how, and what kind of high-tech medical care families in Kazakhstan can access today, demonstrating that the country’s healthcare system is capable of overcoming diagnoses that, until recently, might have seemed like a death sentence.
