The Europe Triathlon Junior Cup Izvorani 2026 took place in Izvorani, Romania on 18 July. The junior women’s competition brought together 30 athletes representing 12 countries: Kazakhstan, Romania, Italy, Hungary, Türkiye, the United Kingdom, the Czech Republic, Ukraine, Poland, Lithuania, Bulgaria, and Serbia.
Kazakhstan was represented by Diana Yerzhanova, Alua Nurmukhamet, Kaleriya Shneyder, Aida Kim, Arseniy Shevchenko, and Alkham Murat.
The highlight of the event was the outstanding performance of Diana Yerzhanova, who claimed the Europe Triathlon Junior Cup title and secured the gold medal.
The Kazakh athlete completed the sprint-distance race in 35:41, finishing seven seconds ahead of Romania’s Tunde Georgiana Crisan.
The silver medal was awarded to Tunde Georgiana Crisan (Romania) with a time of 35:48, while Alice Ventre (Italy) claimed the bronze medal, crossing the finish line in 35:50. The top three finishers were separated by only nine seconds, underscoring the highly competitive nature of the Europe Triathlon Junior Cup event.
Kazakhstan’s other athletes also delivered strong performances. Alua Nurmukhamet finished fifth with a time of 36:03, Kaleriya Shneyder placed sixth in 36:07, and Aida Kim secured ninth place with a time of 36:13.
Four Kazakh athletes finished in the top ten of this prestigious European competition, demonstrating the high standard of preparation of the national team.
On the second day of competition, Kazakhstan continued its successful campaign. In the Mixed Relay, the team comprising Diana Yerzhanova, Arseniy Shevchenko, Alua Nurmukhamet, and Alkham Murat won the silver medal, securing second place on the podium.
As a result, Team Kazakhstan concluded its participation in the Europe Triathlon Junior Cup Izvorani 2026 with two medals: Diana Yerzhanova’s gold medal in the junior women’s individual event and a silver medal in the Mixed Relay. These achievements reflect the high level of preparation of Kazakhstan’s triathletes and the national team’s strong performance on the international stage.
