Development of new Tax Code: the leadership of Kazakh Ministry of National Economy and Respublica faction discussed key approaches
The heads of the Ministry of National Economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan (MNE RK) and representatives of the Respublica party met to discuss the draft of the new Tax Code. Minister of National Economy, Alibek Kuantyrov, Vice Minister Azamat Amrin, as well as deputies of the Majilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan from the Respublica faction actively participated in the meeting, the El.kz reports with reference to the press service of the Ministry of National Economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
During the meeting, the main discussed approaches to the new Tax Code included:
Settlement of disputes and increasing the predictability of tax policy
Implementation of International Tax Standards
Differentiation of tax rates depending on the industry
Revision of the taxation system in the banking, mining and gambling sectors
Simplification of special tax regimes
Introduction of increased taxation for luxury goods
In addition, the new code provides for the implementation of a number of instructions voiced by the Head of State in his message of September 1 this year. These instructions relate to the creation of more flexible fiscal conditions for geological exploration, tax exemption for new projects in the manufacturing industry, the provision of incentives for large processing enterprises in the agro-industrial complex, the expansion of the list of activities for the application of the retail tax regime.
Representatives of the party "Respublica" expressed their positions on the approaches under consideration. In general, the proposals were supported, and it is planned to continue discussing tax administration issues at the next meeting.
The process of developing a new Tax Code will continue in the near future, including active cooperation between the Ministry of National Economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Respublica party.
