Deputy of AMANAT party sends to request to Kazakh PM concerned on single-industry towns and factory villages
Deputy of the AMANAT party faction Yevgeniya Smyshlyaeva sent a request to the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan, concerned about single-industry towns and factory villages. In Kazakhstan, there are about 20 single-industry towns dependent on city-forming enterprises, mainly mining, El.kz reports.
Smyshlyaeva pointed out the need for early diversification of the economy of such cities. She proposed to ensure constant monitoring of the state of deposits, oblige subsoil users to conduct comprehensive processing of reserves, develop roadmaps for diversifying the economy and take measures to retrain workers.
These measures should help prevent the economic decline and outflow of the population that has already been observed in cities such as Arkalyk.
