Delegation of Ministry of Emergency Situations takes part in meeting of departments of SCO member states

In Delhi (Republic of India), under the chairmanship of the Indian side, the 11th meeting of the heads of departments of the SCO member states dealing with the prevention and elimination of emergency situations was held, El.kz reports with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

This meeting is one of the main mechanisms for cooperation of the SCO member states in the field of prevention and elimination of emergency situations.

The event was attended by heads and representatives of emergency agencies of the Republic of India, the People's Republic of China, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Tajikistan, the Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as representatives of the SCO Secretariat.

The Kazakh side was represented by the Minister of Emergency Situations Ilyin Y.V. and the Director of the Department of International Cooperation Grigoryan A.S.

During the meeting, the heads of delegations made presentations on the most large-scale emergencies that have occurred in the SCO member states over the past period and the lessons learned from them, as well as exchanged views on the prospects for further cooperation in the field of prevention and elimination of emergency situations within the SCO.

As a result of the meeting, the parties adopted joint decisions on the need to further strengthen cooperation in the field of preparedness, emergency response and joint mitigation of the consequences of emergencies arising from natural and man-made disasters; exchange of information on innovative practices and technologies in the field of prevention and elimination of emergency situations
