Dairy farms in North Kazakhstan region are introducing digital systems to monitor animal health and track milk yields. These technologies help automate production processes and improve resource efficiency, El.kz reports.

At Atameken-Agro-Korneevka, the DairyPlan and CowScout systems are in use. They enable specialists to monitor the condition of cows and milk production indicators, providing data to support herd management.

SK Agro 2050 LLP operates an automated rotary milking system with a capacity of 100 cows. This equipment enables the systematic milking of large numbers of animals.

Another major project is being implemented by Zenchenko and K LLP, which is constructing a commercial dairy farm designed to accommodate 9,000 head of cattle. Once operational, the farm is expected to have an annual production capacity of up to 38,000 tonnes of milk.

“Digital technologies make it possible to monitor animal health in real time, use resources efficiently and increase productivity,” Vitaliy Zaika, Director of the North Kazakhstan Agricultural Experimental Station said.

According to the specialist, digital solutions enable farms to manage production processes more precisely, including animal monitoring and equipment utilisation.

The development of dairy farms is taking place amid growth in Kazakhstan’s agricultural output. At the end of 2025, the gross output of the agricultural sector reached 9.8 trillion tenge nearly double the 2019 figure.

Up to 1 trillion tenge was allocated for concessional financing of the agro-industrial complex in 2025. The funding was intended, among other purposes, to support equipment upgrades and the implementation of investment projects.

“Government support provides agricultural enterprises with additional opportunities to modernise operations, upgrade equipment and implement large-scale investment projects,” Zaika noted.
