Cooperation between Kazakhstan and Mongolia discussed in Ulaanbaatar

The 9th meeting of the Kazakh-Mongolian Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific, Technical and Cultural Cooperation was held in Ulaanbaatar, El.kz eports with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Information and Social Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Minister of Information and Social Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Co-Chairman of the Intergovernmental Kazakh-Mongolian Commission Darkhan Kydyrali thanked the Mongolian side for its hospitality and dwelled on the issues of relations between the two countries in the trade, economic, agricultural, transport, logistics, investment spheres.

Flights on the Ulaanbaatar – Almaty – Ulaanbaatar route, which were suspended due to the pandemic in 2020, have been resumed. On the agenda is the opening of a flight between the capitals of the two countries, as well as the launch of air and road communications along the route "Ulaanbaatar-Khovd-Ust-Kamenogorsk".

- Kazakhstan is interested in developing close multifaceted ties with friendly and fraternal Mongolia and attaches special importance to this. In 2022, we celebrated the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries. This year marks the 30th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty on Friendly Relations and Cooperation between Kazakhstan and Mongolia, Darkhan Kydyrali said.

Both sides focused on the expansion of trade and economic cooperation between Kazakhstan and Mongolia and the implementation of major projects that will make a significant contribution to the development of the economies of the two countries. Issues of strengthening ties in the fields of culture, education, science, tourism, information, religion, development of civil society and youth policy were also touched upon.

Minister of Finance of Mongolia, Co-Chairman of the Intergovernmental Kazakh-Mongolian Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific, Technical and Cultural Cooperation Boldyn Javkhlan noted the great potential of bilateral relations and expressed interest in exchanging experience in agriculture in Kazakhstan, including animal husbandry and crop production.

Following the meeting, the co-chairs carried out the procedure for signing the protocol of the commission. Also, the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Ministry of Environment and Tourism of Mongolia signed a memorandum of understanding on nature protection.
