Where the Constitution of Kazakhstan is kept
The original Constitution of Kazakhstan is stored in the Archive of the President of the country which provides the highest level of protection and preservation for a document regarded as a national treasure. To maintain its integrity, special conditions are ensured in the storage facility: optimal temperature and humidity are constantly regulated, allowing the paper with the first text of the country’s fundamental law to remain intact for many decades, even centuries. Before the original Constitution is taken out of storage, it undergoes a special procedure — quarantine. This is necessary to adapt the paper to external climatic conditions and prevent damage from sudden environmental changes.
The original Constitution of Kazakhstan stands out not only for its content, but also for its unique design. The document is relatively small in size, making it compact yet no less significant. Each page is presented in color and decorated with Kazakhstan’s national symbols, giving it a solemn and official appearance. The archive guarantees that the document will be preserved for many decades and even centuries.
