Committee under Ministry of Emergency Situations created in Kazakhstan

An Emergency Prevention Committee has been created as part of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, El.kz reports with reference to the press service of the department.

In accordance with the Law "On Civil Protection", one of the eleven tasks of civil protection is the prevention and elimination of emergencies and their consequences.

Implementation of civil protection measures to prevent emergency situations shall be entrusted to the heads of the authorized body, central, local executive bodies, state institutions, organizations within their competence.

To exercise control over central and local executive bodies for the prevention of emergency situations, on behalf of the Head of State, the Committee for the Prevention of Emergency Situations was created as part of the Ministry of Emergency Situations on the basis of the current Department of Emergency Prevention.

The implementation of the proposed organizational and staff measures will not require additional financial resources from the republican budget. Changes will be made within the existing staffing of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
