President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev signed the decree granting citizenship on October, 30. The passport was presented to the entrepreneur by Minister of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development Zhaslan Madiyev, El.kz reports.
What happened
The Minister announced the acquisition of citizenship on social media, publishing a photograph of himself with the entrepreneur. According to Madiyev, he personally presented Mashrabov with his Kazakhstani passport.
“Kazakhstan now has one more billionaire!” the head of the Ministry wrote.
He also congratulated the entrepreneur and thanked the Higgsfield team for its contribution to the development of Kazakhstan’s domestic artificial intelligence industry.
Zhaslan Madiyev emphasised that the Government is interested in attracting professionals who develop innovative technologies and are willing to establish long-term professional ties with Kazakhstan. According to the Minister, the company’s success demonstrates that Kazakhstani teams are capable of developing digital products that are in demand in international markets.
Who Is Alex Mashrabov and What Does Higgsfield Do?
Higgsfield develops tools that enable users to create and edit videos using artificial intelligence. These tools are used to produce social media content and marketing materials, particularly short-form videos, where production speed is often more important than filming budgets.
Mashrabov is the company’s co-founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Previously, he headed the generative AI division at Snap, the company behind Snapchat. Before that, he co-founded the startup AI Factory, which was subsequently acquired by Snap.
