China to supply equipment to Kazakhstani engineering enterprises

On May 22, 2024, representatives of Kazakhstan and the Chinese Technology Transfer Center of SCO Member States discussed the prospects of cooperation in mechanical engineering and other industrial sectors.

Both sides expressed confidence that joint projects and initiatives will bring mutual benefits for both countries.

On May 22, 2024, a meeting took place at the Ministry of Industry and Construction of the Republic of Kazakhstan between the Deputy Chairman of the Committee of Industry Muhammed Andakov and representatives of the Chinese Technology Transfer Center of SCO Member States (hereinafter "Center"), El.kz reports citing the ministry's press service.

During the meeting, prospective areas of cooperation in industrial development were discussed, with a particular focus on mechanical engineering.

The Center, a key player in the implementation of the Belt and Road Initiative, proposed several projects aimed at modernizing the Kazakhstani industry. Special attention was given to the supply of modern equipment for engineering, metallurgy, and light industry enterprises, as well as the introduction of innovative technologies in energy efficiency and digitalization.

The Center also expressed readiness to provide support in scientific and technical education, including granting scholarships to students studying in relevant specialties.

Particular emphasis was placed on strengthening business ties and developing new joint projects. The parties agreed to conduct various events, including business forums and exhibitions, to exchange experiences and ideas.

At the end of the meeting, both sides expressed confidence that enhancing industrial cooperation between Kazakhstan and China will bring mutual benefits and contribute to the further development of both countries' economies.
