China launched the world’s first 10G broadband network in Sunan County, Hebei Province, built jointly by Huawei and China Unicom, El.kz reports citing Mydrivers.
The network delivers download speeds up to 9,834 Mbps, upload speeds of 1,008 Mbps, and latency as low as 3 milliseconds using 50G PON technology.
It improves data transmission for cloud computing, VR and AR, 8K streaming, and smart home integration.
A 20 GB 4K movie that takes 7 to 10 minutes on a 1 Gbps line can download in under 20 seconds.
The launch of the world’s first 10G internet underscores China’s ambition to lead a new era of global telecommunications. With ultra-high speed, low latency, and advanced technological support, this move is regarded as a vital strategy to accelerate cross-sector digital transformation while reinforcing China’s position as a global innovation hub.
