Certificates from training courses are now recognized as equivalent to diplomas in Kazakhstan, El.kz reports citing the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection.
Professional skills can be confirmed not only by a diploma or work experience. The updated National Qualifications Framework (NQF), developed in line with the European model and modern labor market requirements, has come into effect in Kazakhstan.
According to the new rules, official proof of competencies also includes certificates from short-term training courses and confirmations on the Career Enbek portal.
The updated NQF classifies qualifications into eight levels depending on task complexity, responsibility, and the scientific component of the work. This approach makes it possible to take into account not only academic education but also practical skills gained through training and work experience.
First Vice Minister of Labor and Social Protection Askarbek Yertayev noted that the new system is based on principles of transparency and comparability. This facilitates the recognition of competencies across various industries and increases workforce mobility.
In addition, the qualifications framework supports the concept of “lifelong learning” and is oriented toward real economic demands, helping to build a flexible and competitive labor market.
