Canteens in 600 schools in Kazakhstan modernised in 2024

The conditions for comfortable education and upbringing have been improved, El.kz reports with reference to the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

As part of the state program for the modernization of educational institutions, the renovation of 600 school canteens has been completed.

The project aims to reduce the gap in the quality of education between urban and rural schools, as well as to create comfortable conditions for students.

Deputy Director of the Department of Infrastructure Development of the Ministry of Education Roza Sembayeva stressed that modernization is carried out in accordance with the President's election program. By the end of the year, improvements will cover another 1000 schools in small towns, district centers and villages.

Since September 2024, free meals have been organized for 1.7 million schoolchildren. The new approach involves the use of products from local producers. To control the quality of food, inspection commissions have been created, which include parents, public figures, school administration and medical workers.

The Ministry has revised the nutrition standards together with the Ministry of Health, and from 2025 it is planned to introduce a new standard for school meals.
