Canadian Parliamentary Secretary to FM highly appreciated implementation of large-scale reforms in Kazakhstan
On the initiative of the Canadian side, Ambassador of Kazakhstan Akylbek Kamaldinov met with the Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Foreign Affairs – Member of the House of Commons of Canada Robert Oliphant, El.kz cites MFA.
During the conversation, the parties discussed topical issues on the bilateral cooperation, stated the need for further development of the political dialogue, and also noted the positive dynamics in the development of investment, trade and economic relations between two countries.
Ambassador Kamaldinov informed interlocutor about the large-scale political reforms initiated by President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, in particular, on the results of the election to the Mazhilis of the Parliament of Kazakhstan. The Ambassador stressed that these elections were held according to new rules in a competitive environment for political parties and became the final stage of the reboot of state institutions of Kazakhstan in accordance with the formula “strong President – influential Parliament – accountable Government» within the framework of building a Just and Fair Kazakhstan.
Parliamentary Secretary Oliphant emphasized the active and dynamically developing mutual relations. In addition, Oliphant noted that the Canadian side is closely monitoring the political and economic transformations in Kazakhstan and highly appreciates the democratic reforms carried out by the President of Kazakhstan.
The parties agreed to continue the dialogue on the entire spectrum of bilateral cooperation.
