CA countries discuss climate change adaptation projects with Green Climate Fund

As part of the International International Conference on Glaciers’ Preservation in Dushanbe 2025, a meeting was held between the heads of environmental agencies from Central Asian countries and the Mafalda Duarte is the executive director of the Green Climate Fund, El.kz reports citing the Ministry of Ecology of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Participants discussed key regional priorities for obtaining climate financing.
The focus is on sustainable water resource management, reforestation projects, and supporting agriculture under climate change conditions.
Leaders of environmental protection organizations noted the need for additional investments to adapt to climate risks, including those related to glacier melting and water scarcity.
For her part, Mafalda Duarte emphasized the importance of cross-border interaction and stated the Fund's readiness to consider comprehensive projects covering the entire Central Asian region.
The discussion was an important step towards strengthening regional cooperation and forming effective mechanisms for climate financing.
