Bulgarian agricultural companies  interested in increasing cooperation with Kazakhstan

As part of the implementation of the tasks set to attract foreign investment and high technologies in the field of agriculture, Ambassador of Kazakhstan Viktor Temirbayev held a meeting with Chairman of the Bulgarian Association of Agricultural Producers (BAAP) Ventsislav Varbanov, and also visited the production of one of the leading Bulgarian companies in the field of food products – Lekkerbek, El.kz cites MFA.

During the conversation with Ventsislav Varbanov, the parties discussed the prospects for establishing direct contacts between enterprises of the two countries in the agricultural sector, in particular by organizing joint visits of a business delegation and events with the participation of representatives of business communities.

The Kazakh diplomat informed the interlocutor about the work carried out by the Government of Kazakhstan to create a favorable business environment and measures to provide state support to foreign investors who are ready to implement investment projects in the agriculture sector.

In turn, the Chairman of the BAAP expressed his commitment to achieving common goals for the development of mutually beneficial cooperation in the agricultural sector, assuring of his constant support for initiatives to establish contacts between representatives of the business communities of Kazakhstan and Bulgaria.

During the meeting with CEO of Lekkerbek Kolyu Kolev, the head of the company shared with his plans and visions for expanding the company's activities abroad, in particular in Kazakhstan. According to him, Lekkerbek, together with the German WFS company, is currently actively considering the implementation of an investment project in our country for the processing of cattle meat and the production of consumer food products. According to the information of a potential investor, Shymkent is considered as the most likely region for the implementation of the project.

Ambassador Temirbayev noticed the key importance of the development of the agriculture sector for Kazakhstan, including in the context of ensuring food security, assuring the interlocutor of providing comprehensive assistance for the successful implementation of the project.

Following the meeting, the Kazakh diplomat visited the company’s production site, where he got acquainted with the process of preparing products.
