A press tour to Almaty and Almaty region was organized by the National Company Kazakh Tourism together with Air Astana for British journalists writing for such major publications as the BBC, TripReporter, The Week, National Geographic Traveller, Lonely Planet, Suitcase, Wanderlust, El.kz reports.

Representatives of the British media are considered one of the most active travelers in the world. In the statistics of inbound tourism in Kazakhstan, tourists from the UK enter the TOP-10 in terms of arrivals.

During the press tour, journalists were introduced to the main attractions, including the mountain resort of Shymbulak, the Green Bazaar, Kok-Tobe, the ethno-village "Huns", as well as the national parks "Sharyn" and "Kolsai Kolderi".

- Holidays in Kazakhstan are available for British tourists - lovers of outdoor activities. For example, in Europe, mountain resorts are very expensive. And Kazakh resorts in this regard are a great alternative in terms of price-quality ratio," said Chloe Hernandez.

Representatives of the British media were able to assess the potential of the Almaty mountain cluster.

- The diversity of cultures and ethnicities here is amazing. On this press tour, I realized that a week would not be enough to unlock Kazakhstan's tourism potential," said Andrew Mossack.

Journalists also appreciated the national cuisine, especially bauyrsaks and beshbarmak made of horse meat.

- Almaty is very sunny, especially in comparison with London, and the people are very friendly. I like that there is a lot of snow here, we do not have such an amount of snow cover. And it's nice to start your descent from the highest point of the mountain, which indicates a high level of infrastructure," said Benjamin Rankin.

Such events help to acquaint not only the media representatives with the tourism of our country, but also with their help to convey information to potential tourists from the UK about the availability of travel to Kazakhstan. So, they will be able to come to Kazakhstan on a direct flight on the London-Aktau route and then to Almaty 5 times a week.

Kazakh Tourism noted that last year the national company and the air carrier organized an information tour for European tour operators to Aktau and Almaty. And already this year, one of the tour operators began sending tourists from London to Aktau.

Also in May this year, together with Air Astana, Kazakh Tourism plans to acquaint another group of British journalists with the tourism opportunities of the Mangystau region.
