A thematic week dedicated to National Book Day has begun in Kazakhstan. The holiday, celebrated on April 23, was established at the initiative of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. The program covers all regions of the country and features thematic days, each highlighting a different aspect of reading and literature:
April 16: Dedicated to the popularization of knowledge through books.
April 17: Focuses on local history and regional literature.
April 18–19: Organized under the format "Weekend. Book. Vibes," reading with modern cultural practices.
April 20: Scheduled for the "Library Night" campaign.
April 21: Dedicated to the theme "Book. History. Genealogy" .
April 22: Explores the role of books as a tool for friendship and cultural dialogue.
April 23: The week concludes on National Book Day.
What’s in store for readers
As part of the week, various book festivals, fairs, and reading marathons are being held. Libraries are organizing open house days, thematic exhibitions, and book presentations.
