Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Belgium Margulan Baimukhan visited a several Belgian provinces, where he held separate meetings with the heads of the construction company Democo Group, as well as transport and logistics companies Ahlers, Essers and Sarens, El.kz cites MFA.

At the meeting with Christian Leysen, head of Ahlers, the parties discussed the possibility of construction of a large logistics center in the Almaty region. Christian Leysen informed about the current state of the project and shared his vision for further deepening the company’s business activities in Central Asia. Ahlers first opened an office in Kazakhstan in 1998 and since then has been successfully represented in the logistics services market of Kazakhstan.

The meeting with Wim Sarens, CEO of Sarens, was dedicated to discussing a transport and logistics project in the Zhetysu region.

Sarens, founded in 1921, operates in 75 countries. More than 5 thousand employees of the company transport heavy loads, as well as provide engineering transport and specialized rigging services. Since 2016, the company has trained more than 250 of its specialists at the APEC Petrochemical College in Atyrau.

The Kazakh diplomat informed Belgian entrepreneurs about measures to support investors, and also noted the readiness of the Kazakh Embassy to continue to provide assistance to Belgian companies that are ready to expand their presence in Kazakhstan.

In this regard, the head of Democo Group construction company, Philip Demot, expressed his readiness to consider the possibility of building modern schools and hospitals in Kazakhstan.

Democo Group was founded in 1977 and consists of 7 construction, development and architectural companies. More than 1 thousand Democo Group employees work in three EU countries. Considering the dynamic development of the Middle Corridor, the largest transport and logistics company in Belgium, Essers, noted its interest in studying a number of projects in the field of cargo transportation in Central Asia.

Essers was founded in 1928. 7,500 employees ensure the smooth operation of the company in 89 branches in 18 countries. The company is a leader in Belgium and is one of the 20 largest transport and logistics companies in Europe.
