Balloon with the slogan soared in sky of East Kazakhstan region

An awareness campaign was held in East Kazakhstan region dedicated to the International Day against Drug Addiction,El.kz reports with reference to Polisia.kz.

The police noted that drug addiction and the spread of drugs pose a serious threat to the health of the nation. Head of the Police Department of the East Kazakhstan region Yerlan Omarbekov emphasized:

"There are many examples when young people become an easy target for drug dealers who offer easy money through the Internet. People are involved in these schemes, not knowing that they face criminal liability in the form of imprisonment of up to 15 years."

Since the beginning of this year, law enforcement officers have detained 19 people, eight of whom were under 25 years old. The police of the East Kazakhstan region did not allow the distribution of more than 60 kg of narcotic drugs. Last month, a drug laboratory was liquidated, where the seized precursors would have made it possible to produce about 100 kg of synthetic drugs.

"By joining forces, we can create a healthy present and a better future. I urge you to go for sports, develop yourself , set goals and reach new heights," the chief police officer of the region added.
