In May, Astana will host a major international Counter-Strike 2 tournament with a prize pool of $1.6 million. The PGL Astana 2026 competition will take place at the Barys Arena, El.kz reports.
The tournament is expected to gather 16 of the world's strongest teams. Among the participants are Team Spirit, G2 Esports, FURIA Esports, and Heroic.
Organizers note that the tournament has been included in the official 2026 tourism calendar. This is expected to attract thousands of fans and visitors to the capital.
Honorary guests include world champion Dauren Kystaubayev, FURIA player Danil Golubenko, popular streamer Slava Buster, PGL host James Banks, and the legendary Gabriel Toledo.
