A citywide environmental cleanup campaign dedicated to World Cleanup Day will be held in Astana on September, 19 . Residents of the capital will be able to take part in cleaning public spaces and planting trees, El.kz reports citing the Astana city akimat.
The campaign will be held as part of the nationwide “Taza Qazaqstan” initiative. Residents, volunteers, young people, representatives of government authorities, civil society organisations and businesses are expected to participate.
Participants will clean parks, public gardens, residential courtyards and other public areas of litter. Tree planting will be a separate component of the programme.
The capital is also continuing its autumn “Taza Qazaqstan” environmental campaign, which commenced on September, 12 . Sanitation, public-space improvement and landscaping activities are being carried out across all districts of the city.
The activities cover parks, public gardens, residential courtyards and public spaces, as well as areas surrounding businesses and organisations.
Residents and visitors to Astana are invited to join the campaign on September, 19 and contribute to the cleanup and greening of the city.
