Astana to host 51st UEFA Congress in 2027

The Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) has officially announced that the 51st UEFA Congress will take place on March 4, 2027, in the capital of Kazakhstan, Astana, El.kz reports.

The decision was announced at the 50th UEFA Congress held in Brussels. The event in the Belgian capital was attended by the Secretary General of the Kazakhstan Football Federation, David Loria.

The UEFA Congress is the highest governing body of European football and annually brings together representatives of 55 national associations. During the Congress, key decisions shaping the strategic development of football in Europe are made, financial and organizational matters are approved, issues related to the staging of international competitions are reviewed, and UEFA’s governing bodies are elected.

It should be noted that the 51st Congress will be an elective one. Elections of the UEFA President and members of the Executive Committee will be held during the session.

The right to host the Congress is granted to UEFA member countries as a sign of trust and recognition of their contribution to the development of football. Hosting the 51st Congress will be one of the largest international football events ever held in Kazakhstan and will help strengthen the country’s position within the European football community, as well as expand international cooperation in sports.

Holding the UEFA Congress in Kazakhstan will be a significant event for domestic football and a confirmation of the high level of trust from the European football community.

The organization and hosting of the Congress will be financed by UEFA. The event does not provide for  the use of Kazakhstan’s state budget funds and will represent a direct contribution by the European football organization to the development of international cooperation.
