Astana hosts Eurasian Kurultai of Social Entrepreneurs
The event, aimed at exchanging experience and strengthening ties, brought together participants from different countries interested in promoting and supporting socially responsible entrepreneurship
Eurasian Kurultai of Social Entrepreneurs was held in Astana, where representatives of business and government discussed the development of social projects and ESG (environmental, social and managerial) approaches,El.kz reports citing the Kazakh Ministry of National Economy.
Speaking at the forum, Vice Minister of National Economy Bauyrzhan Kudaibergenov spoke about state support measures for social entrepreneurs.
According to him, preferential lending programs have been introduced, which include subsidizing the interest rate at the level of 7% on loans up to 1.5 billion tenge for investment and up to 500 million tenge for replenishment of working capital.
"We fully support entrepreneurs with joint social responsibility, who implement projects and initiatives to improve the social aspects of our citizens," Kudaibergenov emphasized.
In addition, the state offers microloans to social entrepreneurs with a similar rate for amounts of up to 20 million tenge for investments and up to 5 million tenge for working capital needs.
The Vice minister also noted that this year state grants are aimed exclusively at supporting social enterprises, providing entrepreneurs with up to 5 million tenge for the development of projects.
At the end of the forum, Kudaibergenov presented awards to the winners of the Best Social Entrepreneur-2024 competition in the categories "Social Innovative Solution", "Sustainable Development" and "The Youngest Social Entrepreneur", noting the importance of their contribution to the social stability of society.
