Astana hosts an international agricultural exhibition
The Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan Aidarbek Saparov opened the international agricultural exhibition KazAgro/KazFarm-2023, which brought together specialists from over 20 countries of the world, El.kz reports with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
According to the head of the Ministry of Agriculture, the exhibition is the largest platform in Central Asia for demonstrating the best developments, ranging from seeds and embryos to finished products of crop production, animal husbandry and processing.
"In the context of climate change, water shortages, which Kazakhstan has been facing over the past few years, we see that everyone has already understood that technologies need to be adjusted to such changes. One solution, for example, is the widespread introduction of water-saving technologies. In our country, the state stimulates their use by reimbursing half of the costs of irrigation systems, as well as bringing all the necessary infrastructure," the minister stressed.
Aidarbek Saparov added that although high-quality seeds, mineral fertilizers and effective plant protection are the key to a good harvest, success requires the use of the right agricultural technologies. That is why the KazAgro/KazFarm-2023 program included round tables and seminars, where qualified agricultural experts will share their experience.
"Such exhibitions are an opportunity for Kazakh farmers to find reliable suppliers and partners, learn about new agricultural technologies and implement them in their production. Kazakhstan, as an agrarian power, provides food not only for itself, but also for the Central Asian region and Afghanistan, and has extensive export supplies to many countries. In this regard, such exhibitions are both a platform for investors," Aidarbek Saparov said.
In conclusion, the Minister spoke about the Ministerial Conference of the CIS Member States on Cooperation in the Field of Food Security, which will be held on October 20. The conference will make it possible to develop common approaches to the mutual supply of agricultural products, the adoption of measures to saturate domestic markets with socially significant food products, and the formation of a regional policy to ensure food security.
