Armenian CEC to send international observers to nationwide referendum in Kazakhstan
As part of the development of Kazakh-Armenian cooperation, Ambassador of Kazakhstan Bolat Imanbayev met with Chairman of the Central Election Commission of Armenia Vahagn Hovakimyan, El.kz cites MFA.
During the conversation, the Armenian side was presented with the key directions of the President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev’s State of the Nation Address “Just Kazakhstan: law and order, economic growth, public optimism”.
The Ambassador briefed the leadership of the CEC of Armenia about the process of preparation for the nationwide referendum on the construction of a nuclear power plant in Kazakhstan, which will be held on October 6, 2024. At the same time, conveyed to the head of the CEC of Armenia an invitation from Chairman of the Central Election Commission of Kazakhstan Nurlan Abdirov to participate in the referendum as an observer.
In turn, Hovakimyan, thanking for the invitation, noted the stable and dynamic political and socio-economic development of Kazakhstan in modern geopolitical conditions. Taking into account the high level of bilateral relations and the established close ties between the central election commissions of the two countries, he confirmed the participation of representatives of the Central Election Commission of Armenia as international observers at the nationwide referendum in Kazakhstan.
The head of the Central Election Commission of Armenia expressed confidence in the successful holding of the upcoming referendum in Kazakhstan and conveyed warm wishes to his Kazakh colleagues.
